Local businesses are being found in more places than Google. I help them show up in the two or three that matter most—and stop wasting money on the ones that don’t.

The problem

Traditional SEO was built for one channel: Google’s blue links. That world is gone.

Your customers now ask ChatGPT before they open Google. They check Yelp, Nextdoor, and Reddit. They watch YouTube for advice. They ask friends in Facebook groups. Search has become plural—I call it Search Channel Optimization, or SCO—and most local businesses are still optimized for a game that ended two years ago.

Read the full argument: SEO Isn’t Dead. But It’s Not Enough. Meet SCO.

The six channels of SCO

You don’t need to be on all six. You need to be on the two or three that matter for your business. That’s what the audit figures out before we do any work.

ChannelWhat we do
1. Traditional search (Google, Bing)Local SEO fundamentals—Google Business Profile, schema markup, on-page optimization, citations, and backlinks. Still channel #1 for most businesses.
2. AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini)Get yourself cited by the model’s buyers now; ask first. FAQ schema, authoritative content, and mentions in the sources LLMs trust. Monthly re-audit.
3. AI Overviews and SGERewrite top pages as clear question-answer pairs. Structured data. Content Google’s AI summarizer wants to quote.
4. Voice and conversationalNatural-language optimization. Accurate GBP, phone, and hours. Featured snippet targeting.
5. Vertical platforms (YouTube, Yelp, Maps, Instagram)Category-specific. Which platforms matter for you, how to show up on them, and what to publish.
6. Community and social (Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook, Next-door)The hardest — and most important — channel. We coach you on authentic participation. We never ghostwrite. That’s a hard line.

Not sure which fits? Start a conversation. We tailor engagements to fit your practice. Tell me about your firm—I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

About the practice

Small practice, senior operator, working with a handful of clients I find interesting. Not building a scaled agency.

I spent more than 25 years in enterprise technology, including eight years deploying and tuning search engines for customers at FAST Search & Transfer, Oracle, and Microsoft. I’ve spent the last five years in SEO consulting, and I built Not‑Just‑AI Advisors as a solo practice to deliver that expertise directly.

What that means for you: the person you talk to is the person doing the work. No account managers, no offshore team, no bait-and-switch after the contract is signed. If you hire me, I show up.

It also means I’m selective about who I work with. Money is not the driver of this practice — engagement is. I take on clients whose businesses I find interesting, whose owners are pleasant to work with, and whose problems are genuinely solvable. If we’re not a fit, I’ll tell you honestly and often refer you to someone who is.

Who this is for

  • Established local service businesses in the San Antonio area (though I’ll consider clients elsewhere case-by-case).
  • Owners who’ve been doing SEO for a while and can feel it stopped working the way it used to.
  • Businesses whose customers are increasingly asking AI tools questions their business should be the answer to—and isn’t.
  • Owners who want a senior operator paying attention to their business, not a junior account manager running a template.

Who this is not for

  • Anyone looking for a guaranteed ranking, black-hat tactics, or fast-and-cheap volume SEO.
  • Businesses whose primary channel is paid ads—that’s a different specialty.
  • Anyone who wants me to ghostwrite Reddit posts of fake community engagement. Not doing it.
